Snap Launches Spectacles 3, Coming This Fall for $380

Snap, the makers of Snapchat, is launching the third-generation of Spectacles, it’s video-recording sunglasses. Despite the mediocre sales of the first and second-generation Spectacles, Snap isn’t giving up with Spectacles.

The third-generation of Spectacles takes things a lot further. The new Spectacles 3 comes with two different cameras and a new steel wireframe that looks way more premium than before. The second camera on the glasses is now used for depth sensing, which means Snap can now do a lot of cool AR stuff with the new Spectacles 3.

The company says it will launch exclusive 3D Effects for the Spectacles 3 that uses depth and dimension for impressive-looking 3D effects. Developers and users will be able to build their own effects for the Spectacles, too.

There isn’t a lot of other changes in the new product, it comes in two different finishes: Carbon and Mineral. It’s only a “limited edition” product, so Snap isn’t investing a lot on it yet. And that is probably cause of the $380 price, which is more than double the price of the original Spectacles. They are available for pre-order now, ships this November.

I would say third time lucky, but Snap obviously haven't learnt anything. This will be a third time fail.

Who in the hell is designing these things? I wouldn't put something that looks like that on the face of my worst enemy.

How did they go backwards in design! The second gen was decently hidden, this is just obvious
