Google’s Pixelbook Go Takes the Traditional Approach to Laptops

Google has a big event coming up next month. We are expecting two new Pixel devices, but Google will have something in store for Chromebook fans, too. The company won’t have a new Pixelbook 2 from the looks of things, but it will instead come out with something slightly different: the Pixelbook Go.
9to5Google reports that the Pixelbook Go is a regular clamshell laptop, without any of the 2-n-in-1 features, that’s built for portability. The device has a tactile feel to the back of the design that makes it easier to hold, apparently. It’s also lighter than the original Pixelbook thanks to the magnesium alloy body. It will, however, get rid of support for the Pixelbook Pen.

This isn’t the first time we have seen the Pixelbook Go, though. The device seems to be have been called “Atla”s internally, and we have seen a video of the actual device in the past:
In terms of the specs, the Pixelbook Go will feature a 13.3-inch 16:9 display, with a Full HD and a 4K variant. The device will come with up to the Intel Core i7, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of storage. It also apparently has a much more powerful speaker than the original Pixelbook, thanks to the front-facing speakers on the front.
The device is expected to have similar pricing as the original Pixelbook or the Pixel Slate, and it will be available in “Just Black” and “Not Pink” colors.
