GPUs have been in very high demand due to the pandemic and global chip shortages, but the situation seems to have improved in recent months. In its Q2 earnings report (via The Verge), Nvidia revealed that it had an “excess inventory” of GPUs that would force the company to do some price adjustments. Additionally, rising electricity bills and cryptocurrencies losing value have led many miners to sell their GPUs.

Anyway, it won’t be long before we see what Nvidia has in the cards with its next-gen GeForce GPUs. The RTX 30 series was quite a big release for the company, delivering better ray-tracing support and improvements to Nvidia’s Deep Learning super sampling (DLSS) technology. Nvidia’s upcoming RTX 40-series family is expected to introduce a brand new “Lovelace” architecture, and it may well be another leap forward for GeForce GPUs.

Nvidia’s GeForce Beyond keynote will kick off at 8 AM PT on September 20, and it will be live streamed on YouTube and Twitch.
