Meta Announces New Prescription-Optimized Ray-Ban Glasses

Prescription-Optimized Ray-Ban Meta Glasses

Meta revealed today new versions of its AI glasses optimized for nearly all prescriptions. Existing models already allowed customers to add prescription lenses, but the new prescription-optimized models are designed to be even more comfortable thanks to overextension hinges, interchangeable nose pads, and optician-adjustable temple tips.

“Our newest Ray-Ban Meta glasses are built to better serve people who rely on prescription glasses and all-day eyewear,” Meta said today. “They’re the most comfortable glasses we’ve ever designed — made for all-day comfort.”

The company’s first prescription-optimized AI Glasses are available in two styles: the rectangular-shaped Blayzer, which is available in Standard and Large sizes, and the more rounded Scriber style. Both models are available for pre-order today on Meta.com and Ray-Ban.com, with prices starting at $499. Meta said that they will be available at US optical retailers and select international markets starting April 14.

In addition to these two new prescription-optimized models, Meta also announced today limited-time frame and lens colors for its existing Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) glasses. The sports-oriented Oakley Meta Vanguard and HSTN are also getting new combinations of colors and lenses.

Lastly, Meta detailed upcoming software updates for its AI glasses, including hands-free WhatsApp summaries that will soon be available via its Early Access Program (EAP). A new nutrition tracking feature is also coming soon to help US adults log what they eat and get personalized nutrition guidance. The new Meta Ray-Ban Display, which includes a built-in display and neural band for gesture commands, is also getting Neural Handwriting and an expanded pedestrian navigation feature very soon.
