Microsoft Announces This Year's 12 Days of Deals

Breaking with tradition, Microsoft has pre-announced its annual 12 Days of Deals promotion, which starts next week. Unlike previous years, we know each of the deals ahead of time.

“Whether you prefer to skip the madness of Black Friday and Cyber Monday or just like to take your time buying holiday gifts, our 12 Days of Deals holiday sale has you covered,” Microsoft explains. “With great savings on some of the most sought-after gifts of the season, our limited-time offers put everything they want within reach – and within budget. Plus, with free shipping and free returns on every item every day, you can save even more when you shop at the Microsoft Store.”

So their 12 deals are either a PC sale, Xbox stuff sale or gift card with purchase of a VR headset/Xbox stuff.

Sounds like 3 sales on stuff I can get on sale anywhere.

I really just want another Zune/Xbox music/Groove music pass deal.

The 2 years I bought during their Pi day sale 2 years ago runs out soon.

Very sad that there will be no Groove Music Pass discount again this year! My Pi day purchased subscription will be running out in a couple months. I’m going to have a tough decision to make if they don’t come up with a family plan option soon.

I’m in the same boat, though I am ready for a change. Currently looking for a music subscription that offers lyrics support. It appears Microsoft is not interested in supporting this feature despite being one of the top requests for the past couple years.

Amazon Prime Music has lyric support. You get Prime shipping as a bonus.

The Door Busters section has listed a $50 store card with a 1 yr Groove Music Pass purchase. Looks like it’s the best we are getting this year. https://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/cat/categoryID.4810533400?icid=gm_17hol_12dd_ModD_ShopDB

Me too — my pi day Groove sub runs out in March. If that $50 gift card weren’t in-store only, I’d probably continue the subscription.

For those fortunate enough to have a Microsoft Store nearby, they’re going to have door-busters, too. On 12/7 they’ve announced a $50 Microsoft Store gift card with a 12-month Groove Music Pass purchase. And then on 12/8, a $25 Microsoft Store gift card with a 12-month Xbox Live Gold membership. There’s a full list of door-busters here.

Based on previous promotions, does anyone know whether you get the gift card on the spot or they send it to you later? Because, I’m strategizing here…I could get the Groove Music Pass on 12/7, then turn around and use the gift card to basically pay for the Xbox Live Gold membership on 12/8 and still score the $25 gift card. Now that’s a pretty good deal.

Check the list of Microsoft stores before heading out. For example, in the Dallas/Fort Worth area they only list one of the two stores as participating. It may be a mistake, but you never know.

Yeah, I noticed not all stores are participating. THAT STINKS!
