Microsoft has unveiled today a new Smart Camera for the Surface Hub 2S, the company’s family of interactive whiteboards for businesses. The Surface Hub 2 Smart Camera aims to improve the meeting experience for all participants with automatic framing technology and other AI-powered features.
“Surface Hub 2 Camera reframes, adjusts lighting, and enables incredibly wide angles of view, all without any warping, distortions, or depth-of-field issues that might otherwise limit what is visible. The team put tremendous work into tuning the experience to capture and frame what is occurring in the room while being smooth and natural for remote viewers or participants,” explained Steven Bathiche, CVP, Windows and Devices at Microsoft.
Microsoft’s Surface Hub 2 Smart Camera uses a 12MP sensor with a 136-degree field of view lens, and its AI engine is capable of detecting people using different postures across a variety of rooms and lighting conditions. The Surface Hub 2 Smart Camera connects to the Surface Hub 2S via USB-C mount, and it can be attached to the digital whiteboard with a magnetic click.
The Surface Hub 2 Smart Camera is available to purchase starting today in all Surface Hub markets, and it’s priced at $799.99. Microsoft will also sell it with the 85-inch Surface Hub 2S in a $21999.99 bundle starting May 31.
