Microsoft Build 2024 Will Be on May 21-23

Microsoft Build 2024

Microsoft Build 2024, the next edition of the company’s annual developer conference will be held on May 21-23 in Seattle. Microsoft announced the news in a post on X yesterday and teased some news about “AI, Copilots, and more” for developers.

Just like last year, Build will be a hybrid event with an in-person gathering at the Seattle Convention Center, plus online conferences that are free to watch. You can already sign up on the official Build website to be notified when registrations open for Build 2024.

Last year, Microsoft’s Build conference already had a heavy focus on AI. If most of the announcements focused on developers, this is also where Microsoft announced Copilot in Windows, plugin support in Copilot for Microsoft 365, and new AI features for the Microsoft Store on Windows 11.

While Copilot for Microsoft 365 officially launched in November, Microsoft recently launched a new consumer-focused Copilot Pro subscription that brings more AI capabilities to Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscribers. The AI assistant also has a new dedicated keyboard key on new Windows 11 laptops released this year.

We should get a bit more details about the main themes of this year’s Build conference once the session catalog becomes available. In addition to Build, Microsoft is also expected to announce new Surface devices this spring, and this should give the company another opportunity to talk about AI.
