Microsoft announced today the upcoming launch of Microsoft Learning Zone, a new AI-powered learning app for Copilot+ PCs. The app was first announced as “Project Spark” back in January, and it’s now set to launch in public preview later this summer.
Microsoft Learning Zone will allow educators to create personalized lessons using their own materials as well as content from various partners. If the ability to generate personalized lessons with AI will only be available on Copilot+ PCs, students will be able to play them on any Windows device. The app will also offer data-driven insights and other tools allowing educators to track how students meet their learning goals.
“Microsoft Learning Zone is built on collaborations with organizations such as NASA, The Economist Educational Foundation, PBS NewsHour, Figma, and Minecraft Education to bring real-world relevance into the classroom. It also includes integration with Kahoot! to generate interactive games and OpenStax for content from vetted open educational resources,” explained Deirdre Quarnstrom, Vice President, Education at Microsoft.
Later this year, the new Microsoft 365 Copilot app will also add AI-powered education features in preview. Educators will be able to use Copilot to create lesson plans, quizzes, and use other teaching tools right from the app. Teaching and learning AI agents are also available in private preview to provide tailored coaching to students on specific subjects or assignments.
