Apple Music Now Integrates with Waze

Apple Music is joining Spotify, YouTube Music, and the other audio streaming services available on Waze. The navigation app now lets Apple Music subscribers access their music collection and curated playlists right from Waze’s integrated media player.

“With a direct connection between the apps, you can now access Apple Music content directly from the Waze Audio Player. Enjoy more than 90 million songs, tens of thousands of curated playlists, Apple Music Radio and more while you navigate,” the Waze team announced today.

If you’ve never used Waze before, the app is capable of automatically detecting compatible music apps installed on your iOS or Android device and making them accessible from the audio player icon on the map. Waze currently supports over 20 audio apps including the biggest music streaming services as well as other apps such as Audible, NPR One, TuneIn, and iHeartRadio.

Waze is one of the most popular car navigation apps on the market, and Apple Music is also one of the most popular paid music streaming services worldwide. With Apple Music being available on both iOS and Android for years, it’s not exactly clear why this integration didn’t happen earlier, but it’s certainly better late than never.
