According to Samsung, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is the company’s most powerful smartphone yet. It’s also the first device to ship with Android 12L, a new version of Android optimized for dual-screen phones. This allows Samsung to offer PC-like multitasking experiences on the Z Fold4, with a new taskbar providing quick access to favorite apps. Chrome, Gmail, Google Meet, Microsoft’s Office apps, and Outlook have also been optimized to take advantage of the foldable displays.

The Galaxy Z Fold4 comes with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, 12 GB of RAM, up to 1TB of internal storage, and a 4,400mAh battery that supports up to 50% charge in around 30 minutes. The main AMOLED display is 7.6-inch with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, while the cover screen is just 6.2-inch big.

On the camera front, there’s a 10MP cover camera for selfies, another 4MP camera under the main display, plus a rear triple camera system (12MP ultra wide camera, 50MP wide-angle camera, and 10MP telephoto camera).

Let’s move on to the Z Flip4, which is Samsung’s other new foldable phone that uses a more classic clamshell design. The internal specs are very similar to what’s on the Z Fold4, and the smaller 3,700mAh battery also supports Samsung’s Super Fast Charging technology.

The main screen on the Z Flip4 is a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, while the cover screen is just 1.9-inch big. Samsung also included a 10MP selfie camera on the front, while the rear dual camera system on the back comes with a 12MP ultra-wide sensor and a 12MP wide-angle sensor.

“With the slimmer hinge, straightened edges, contrasting hazed back glass and glossy metal frames, the design is our most refined yet,” Samsung explained. The Z Flip4 may lack the multitasking features found on the Z Fold4, but Samsung’s highlighted its unique customization capabilities with the unique cover screens users can create on the device.

The Galaxy Z Fold4 will start at $1,799 in the US, which is really expensive for a smartphone. The Z Flip4, however, will start at a much more reasonable $999.

With its new Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro, Samsung proved today it’s still very much committed to wearables. The Watch5 keeps the BioActive Sensor introduced on the Watch4 series, which combines a Optical Heart Rate, Electrical Heart Signal, and Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis in a single chip. But that’s not all.

“With an increased surface area and more direct contact with your wrist, Galaxy Watch5 tracks health metrics now with even greater accuracy than Galaxy Watch4. Plus, its powerful 3-in-1 BioActive Sensor works in combination with the other sensors of Galaxy Watch5 series, including the newly introduced temperature sensor, to provide users with an in-depth understanding of their wellness,” Samsung explained.

The Galaxy Watch5 Pro uses more premium materials including an enhanced Sapphire Crystal to protect the screen that is also surrounded by a titanium casing. The Galaxy Watch 5 also comes with a battery that’s 60% larger than the one on the Galaxy Watch 4, and both the Watch5 and Watch5 Pro also offer optional LTE connectivity.

The Galaxy Watch5 will start at $279 for the Bluetooth version and $329 for the LTE version. The Galaxy Watch5 Pro will start at $449 for the Bluetooth version and $499 for the LTE version.

Samsung also unveiled today the new Galaxy Buds2 Pro, which offer improved intelligent audio features and a more comfortable design. Priced at $229.99, the new Buds2 Pro support 24-bit Hi-Fi sound and 360 audio. Samsung also highlighted how its intelligent Active Noise Cancellation technology can now cut background noise even better.

The Galaxy Z Flip4, Z Fold4, Watch5, Watch5 Pro, and Buds2 Pro will be available for pre-order beginning August 10, with general availability starting August 26 in select countries.
