Google Brings Magic Eraser, More to Google One Subscribers

Google announced today that it is making Magic Eraser and other Pixel-only features available to all Google One subscribers too, and across Android and the iPhone.

“Over the past few years, we’ve added AI-powered Google Photos editing tools, like Magic Eraser, to the latest Pixel phones,” a post by Google’s Dina Berrada and Esteban Kozak reads. “Now we’re bringing Magic Eraser and other enhanced editing features to more people. Starting today, Google One members—on both Android and iOS—and all Pixel users will be able to enjoy Magic Eraser, a new HDR video effect, and exclusive collage styles.”

Here’s what’s changing.

Magic Eraser. This Photoshop-like tool was previously available only to users of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones. It lets you tap or circle things you want to erase in photos, and it offers a Camouflage feature that lets you change the color of objects in photos to help them blend in naturally with the rest of the image.

HDR effect. Google Photos offers an HDR effect feature that helps balance dark foregrounds and bright backgrounds (or vice versa). Now, it has been updated to also let you enhance brightness and contrast across personal videos too.

Exclusive collage editor designs. All Google Photos users can now apply styles to a single photo in the collage editor. And Google One members and Pixel users are receiving new styles so they have more designs to choose from when making collages.

Free shipping on print orders. Google One members can now get free shipping on custom photo books, canvas prints, and photo print orders from the print store in the United States, Canada, the European Union, and the United Kingdom.

These features are starting to roll out today in Google Photos for all Google One members and all Pixel users.
