Parallels Desktop for Mac 19

Parallels Desktop for Mac 19, the latest version of the popular virtualization software is now available on macOS Mojave or newer. This new version is already optimized for the upcoming macOS Sonoma, and it introduces a refreshed UI, Touch ID support for password-less sign-in, and more.

Last year, Microsoft recognized Parallels Desktop for Mac as a supported scenario for running Windows 11 on a Mac with Apple Silicon. The other officially supported scenario for Mac users is to stream a Windows 11 Cloud PC via a Windows 365 subscription, which is potentially more expensive.

Beyond the compatibility with macOS Sonoma and integration with Touch ID (on Apple Silicon Macs), this new version of Parallels Desktop now uses the Internet Printing Protocol for shared printing, which should offer better hardware compatibility.

With OpenGL 4.1 support, CAD engineers can take advantage of better performance in apps like ArcGIS Pro. developers, and businesses. Developers can also use Parallels Desktop 19 to emulate x86 apps on ARM-based Linux VMs, including Docker containers. Lastly, Parallels Desktop 19 introduces new mass deployment options for IT pros via Microsoft Intune.

A perpetual license for Parallels Desktop 19 for Mac costs $129.99, but users coming from any previous version can upgrade for just $69.99. The app is also available via an annual subscription ($99/year) that provides access to annual updates for free.
