Samsung Announces Galaxy Unpacked Event on January 17

Samsung announced today that it will hold a Galaxy Unpacked event on January 17, 2024. There will be a physical event for the media at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, but everyone else will be able to follow the news live on YouTube starting at 10 AM PST.

In the invitation, Samsung teased what to expect from the Galaxy S24 family. “The new Galaxy S series will set a higher standard for the most intelligent mobile experience yet,” the company said, adding that the new Galaxy devices will provide “an all-new mobile experience powered by AI.”

In recent years, Samsung has been announcing new premium Galaxy phones at two different moments: The latest Galaxy S series usually launches early in the year with the latest Qualcomm silicon, while new foldable phones (Z Flip and Z Fold series) follow later in the year. Last year, the Galaxy S23 series launched in February, bringing a slightly refined design and camera improvements.

As Samsung implied in the teaser, there should be a heavy AI focus for the Galaxy S24 family. You can expect the same from other smartphone manufacturers this year, and the PC market should also experience a big AI moment thanks to new chips with dedicated AI processors from Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm.
