Google’s new Pixel 3 XL device comes with a notch, like many of the new phones coming out this year. Unlike other devices, though, Google’s notch on the Pixel 3 XL is quite large in comparison. And now there’s two of the same notch for some users.
A software bug on some Pixel 3 XL devices is resulting in the device growing a second, virtual notch on the side of the device. The notch disappears after a restart or changing some of the developer settings, but it’s certainly an annoying and funny bug. It would be very interesting to know exactly what is causing some of these devices to grow the second notch. It likely has something to do with Android’s developer settings that lets you create a virtual notch to test your apps for devices with notches. Either way, the bug is funny.

Google told Android Police that a fix for the issue will be coming soon, so it’s not that much of a big deal.

If we knew how many bugs are due to obstruction from quarters within companies, we'd probably surprised a lot. Particularly in the case of Google where the managemment empowered and even pushed the personnel to act highly politicized in the context of the workplace and beyond, resentments and aversion towards company guidelines, management or towards groups within the company seen as different, might lead to acts of obstruction.

Maybe as a white straight male I just fail to see this as an act of political resistance against patriarchy.
