OnePlus 6 users on the OxygenOS beta got a nice surprise last night: OnePlus is bringing some of the software improvements in the OnePlus 6T to its predecessor, and they are now available in preview form.
“Some of the most exciting features that we introduced on the OnePlus 6T are now available on OnePlus 6,” the firm announced yesterday.

Here’s what’s new.
System. OxygenOS Open Beta 6 adds new navigation gestures, an improved UI for About phone, the 2018.11 Android security patch, and improvements to the screenshot experience.
Launcher. The Google quick search box has a new design.
Camera. Added Nightscape and Studio Lighting Gallery. This is the big one to my mind. As you may recall, the OnePlus 6T camera hardware is unchanged from that of its predecessor. So the camera improvements that OnePlus discussed should work identically on your current OnePlus 6.
Gallery. The Gallery app gets smoother and improved zooming gestures and magnification.
I did install the beta last night but I haven’t had a chance to really check out the new camera features. I do see there is a new Night shooting mode, which must be the Nightscape feature. I’ll try to test it this evening.
