Google Expands Quick Share's AirDrop Compatibility to More Pixels

Google added Apple AirDrop compatibility to Quick Share on Android back in November, starting with the Pixel 10 series. At the time, the company said it would expand the compatibility to more Android phones. Today, it began that expansion.

“Starting today, we are bringing Quick Share compatibility with AirDrop to the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold,” Google’s Siri Tejasweini writes in a post to the Pixel Phone Help site. “The feature will roll out over the coming weeks in phases.”

AirDrop compatibility in Quick Share makes it simpler than ever “to share high-resolution files with friends on iPhone, iPad or macOS devices,” Google notes. And that sharing is protected by “multi-layer security at its foundation.”

You can learn more about Quick Share and AirDrop on the Android Help Center.
