Google Delivers the September 2026 Pixel Drop

The September 2026 Pixel Drop brings new features to supported Pixel phones and Pixel Watches and it’s rolling out now.

“Your Pixel devices become even more helpful with Pixel Drops,” Google explains on its Support website. “They’re automatic software updates that send new and upgraded features to your phone.”

The September 2026 Pixel Drop includes the following features for phones:

Scam Detection improvements. Scam Detection is now available through the Pixel keyboard starting in the U.S. on Pixel 6 and newer. This lets you take advantage of its protections in message apps, where you will see a “Likely scam” warning chip above the keys if it detects something amiss. Scam Detection is also expanding to Australia, Canada, France, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico, Singapore, and the United Kingdom and to the Arabic, French, German, Portuguese, Japanese, and Spanish languages.

Pause Point improvements. Pause Point is an optional Pixel feature that adds a pause before you open a distracting app. It was first introduced with the Pixel 11 series phones, but Pause Point is now rolling out to Pixel 6 and newer devices too.

Pixel VIP improvements. You can reach out to your VIP contacts with new widget options–calling and texting with one tap from your home screen–new glanceable notification badges, and a bottom floating menu for switching between VIPs.

Harry Potter audiobook packs. To celebrate the release of Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions on Audible, you can customize your Pixel with wallpaper, icons, and sounds from the series. And all eligible Pixel users will receive a two-month Audible free trial through January 14, 2027 in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, India, Japan, and Australia.

And on Pixel Watch, Google is updating eligible Pixel 5 Watches to Wear OS 7, adding Gemini Personalization, Proactive suggestions, offline Gemini support, Raise to talk improvements, and other changes and improvements.
