Google Chrome OS 133 adds several minor new features related to accessibility, screencasts, Bluetooth microphones, and more.
“You should soon see an update on your device for Chrome OS M133,” the Chromebook Help site on Google Support notes. “This update and the features associated with it, will be progressively rolling out over the coming days. Your device may not immediately be eligible for this update.”
Here’s what’s new.
Bounce Keys. This accessibility feature is designed for those with limited dexterity or tremors. When enabled, the system will ignore repeated keystrokes within a short (and customizable) time interval, preventing unintended characters being entered because of unintentional key presses.
Welcome Tour. The Chrome OS Welcome Tour displays after you first set up your Chromebook. It’s been enhanced with new interactive learning resources so those new to the platform can get up and running quickly.
Screencast. The Chrome OS Screencast feature now supports over 50 languages. You can see the full list of supported languages on the Google Support site.
Bluetooth Mic Super Resolution. Now there is a new toggle control in the Audio settings page that appears when your Chromebook supports Bluetooth mic Super Resolution and the selected input device is a Bluetooth headset. You can learn more about this feature on the Chrome OS Dev site.
