HP Announces an AMD-Powered Portable Workstation

The HP ZBook Ultra G3a 16 is a 16-inch portable workstation built around the AMD Ryzen AI Max PRO 400 and up to 192 GB of unified RAM.

The ZBook Ultra G3a uses a unified memory architecture that allows RAM to be dynamically allocated as VRAM for high-end AI tasks and graphic intensive apps. It’s aimed at engineers, architects, designers, creators, developers, data scientists, AI developers and AI builders who need workstation-class performance in a mobile form factor. It ships with a choice of AMD Ryzen AI Max PRO 400 Series CPUs up to a Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495, up to 192 GB of unified RAM, and up to 8 TB of PCIe-5×4 2280 NVMe SSD storage.

The portable workstation also ships with Perplexity Personal Computer for Windows for running AI models, agents, and tools locally and using sources like files, Microsoft 365, connected apps, and the web. Users can use this local AI to analyze data, synthesize files, and run complex workflows without sending tasks to the cloud, HP and Perplexity note.
