Microsoft recently updated the Office apps for iPhone and iPad, adding new features to each of the apps, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Key among the changes: you can use iCloud Drive for documents and Excel for iPad now supports add-ons.
Here’s what’s new in the apps, which have been updated to version 1.9.2.

Support for iCloud Drive. Available now in all three apps, you can open, edit, and save your work to iCloud Drive, Apple’s cloud-based storage service. The Office apps originally supported OneDrive and OneDrive for Business, and support for other cloud storage services was added in February. This feature requires iOS 8 or newer.
Word. Microsoft’s mobile word processor picks up new templates that let you “create great looking Word documents more quickly.”
Excel. Now, you can add features to Excel through a new add-on functionality that will later be brought to all Office mobile apps across platforms. In this version, it works only on iPad and requires iOS 8.2 or newer.
PowerPoint. Microsoft’s mobile presentation tool gets two updates. You can now change the layout of your slide. And you can insert pictures and videos from the camera right into your presentation.
