The Microsoft Health app for Android is being updated today, adding support for the Cortana digital personal assistant. Yes, that means that you can now use Cortana on your Band 2.

Thanks to Dan Lampke for the screenshot, and for being the first of several people to tip me off to this app update.

Previously, this support was only made available to Band 2 users through Windows phones. But with this week’s update, you can now use Android, Cortana, and your Band 2 together.

“With Cortana on your Band, you can access your personal assistant for instant notifications of improtant events, communications, and voice-active info without reaching for your phone,” Microsoft explains. “Speak into the mic on your Band to get Cortana to take actions for you, get facts, and more.”

To be clear, you will need three pieces here to make this work: AMicrosoft Band wearable, of course, that is synced with your Android handset. The Microsoft Health app for Android, which is how you sync Band with your phone. And the Cortana app for Android.
