Microsoft’s most affordable Surface device, Surface Go, is now available in a new LTE Advanced variant. Redmond today announced that it’s launching the LTE  version of the Surface Go, allowing users to connect to the internet without needing a WiFi connection. The price is $679.

Microsoft is targetting the Surface Go at Firstline Workers and business customers that need an internet connection on the go.  The device comes with Windows 10 Pro for commercial customers and packs the same power as the regular Surface Go.

You can get LTE connectivity with a nano-SIM. The device comes with a 10-inch PixelSense display, offers up to 8.5 hours of battery life, comes with up to 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a 7th generation Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y processor.

This is essentially just the Surface Go as you know it, but with the ability to put in a SIM and get LTE connectivity on the go. Surface Go with LTE Advanced is available now in the US for $679 to consumers and $729 to commercial customers. It will be available in 23 markets by November 22.

Just four months after the non-LTE version was announced versus the year long wait for the LTE Surface Pro 5th gen. Hopefully this means we'll get the LTE Surface Pro 6 no further than March 2019.

Give it an ARM processor and I'm sold

"...and packs the same power as the regular Surface Go."

Shouldn't that read "...lacks the same power..."

On the MS store page I get to, the LTE version only comes in 8G/128G. There is no 256GB version with or without LTE. I don't see a pre-order button on the Go page yet either, just on the front page that takes you there. I have a Go (8/128) and find it a nice compact device, for leisurely pursuits. Web browsing, reading and responding to mail, light productivity with Office are all fine. Certainly something I could take on vacation and do everything I'd need to. LTE might make that more convenient.

Pentium Gold 4415Y? with that kinda processor for that price, your just paying for the microsoft name no? that seems like a hell of a lot of money to me for a  very low powered processor. You can get a hell of a lot more for this price from just  about anybody else.... although I guess for some who want this form factor and want it to be from Microsoft, its something. but I dunno. its not for me, personally. not that I'm representative of the world I know.

This may sound like a dumb question, but I ask due the lack of clarity given in Microsoft's official blog announcement on Monday 12th Nov. As such I would appreciate if it can be confirmed that the Surface Go with LTE Advanced does indeed have Wi-Fi too ?
