Today’s the Day, Surface Fans!

Today, Microsoft will unveil its next-generation Surface PCs and devices, and if the rumors are any indication, fans are going to be quite pleased. I’ll be covering the virtual event with Leo Laporte on TWiT, and here’s how and when you can tune in to watch it all unfold.

What: Microsoft Fall 2021 News Briefing. Microsoft is expected to unveil a new generation of Surface PCs and devices, and to discuss the coming Windows 11 launch.

Last time I watched Twit cover a surface event live it was when they cut away thinking the "one more thing" was the Neo and completely missed the one more thing after the one more thing (the Duo).

Speaking of the Neo, do you think Microsoft will just brush past that today and pretend it never happened?

I will watch to just to see Leisure Suit Larry (Panos) in his full glory. It is oddly if not painfully entertaining.

So they took the two computers I used and merged them into one. That’s awesome. I wasn’t planning on buying a new laptop, but Surface Laptop Studio might change those plans.

So far, I only judge from the keynote because technical information on the Microsoft page is not available yet here.

The devices have some improvements, among which Thunderbolt 4 is remarkable. Surface Laptop Studio is a nice new design for those needing such and has RTX 3050 TI Laptop. I could not see the size of the arrow keys.

The introductions advertise the devices as for everyone, everywhere, with great attention to details and sustainable. From this PR, I expect but do not see strongly reduced reflectance and user-replaceable battery so I am still not motivated to buy Pro and / or Go.

It is unclear which devices are silent and what real battery life will be. Will multi-tasking be possible on the Surface Go?

Windows Home S?! I suppose there will also be Windows Pro.

Prices?! Seriously, a keynote without prices…!
