Day 4 of Microsoft’s 12 Days of Deals presents an interesting proposition: Surface Pro 3 with a Core i3 processor, 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage for just $700. That’s $200 off the normal price, plus you get a $50 gift code good for use in Microsoft’s retail stores and online stores.

My take: I’ve not used or reviewed the Core i3 version of Surface Pro 3, and I think it’s notable that Microsoft moved to the Core m3 for the Pro 4. Also, this price still doesn’t include a Type Cover ($130) and Surface Pen ($60). So you need to add $190 to the price. $1000 is a lot of money for a fairly low-end PC like this, even with that $50 gift code.
