Microsoft Issues Firmware Updates for Surface Book and Surface Pro 4

Microsoft has issued June 2016 firmware updates for its Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 tablets. And if I’m reading this right, they may have just fixed an issue I’d been experiencing with Surface Book.

I brought Surface Book with me on a recent long weekend trip to Fort Collins, Colorado. Twice on that trip, I opened up the device to discover it booting from a cold stop, rather than resuming from sleep. Meaning that, yes, I actually lost work both times. This was actually surprising to me, as Microsoft’s January fixes for Surface Book had, for the time at least, fixed my issues and put an end to the ignominy ofSurfacegate. My guess now is that some subsequent firmware update—Microsoft’s misnaming of what are really just driver updates—might be the culprit.
