MacBook To Surface Book, Microsoft Wants To Help You Switch

Surface Book Macbook Hero

Today is the day that the Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 are shipping to customers and along with the product release, the company has created a new website to make the switch from a MacBook to a Surface Book, a little bit easier. Microsoft, for several years now, has been going after the MacBook crowd and has repeatedly pointed out how its Surface and now the Surface Book, offer more value than the competing Apple devices.

The new site, which you can check out here, is called “Making the switch: MacBook to Microsoft Surface Book” and it offers up several tutorials about how to use your new Surface Book with an iPhone, iCloud and of course iTunes. There is also information about how to move your photos and files over to the Surface Book and a short guide to getting started with Windows 10.

The Surface Book is a premium device that is going head-to-head with Apple’s MacBook Pro, so it’s not surprising to see them build a webpage directly targeted at these users. Although, the design and layout of these pages is quite barebones and doesn’t offer up the typical large imagery that you see on other Microsoft pages, for those who are truly new to Windows 10, it will help ease the transition pain.

I do wonder how many users this type of a page will actually convince to switch or truly need a guide on how to come back to Windows but regardless, it’s good to see Microsoft being aggressive and going after the premium user base.
