Microsoft this week delivered a new set of firmware updates to Surface Pro 3 users. But this one comes with a twist: You’ll only see these updates if you’re running Windows 10 version 1607.
That is, you must have installed the Anniversary Update.

The update will be delivered as “System Firmware Update – 8/1/2016” or “System Hardware Update – 8/1/2016” via Windows Update, Microsoft says.
Here’s what changed:
Surface Pro UEFI 3.11.1550.0 improves stability and performance when changing between power states.
Surface Pen Settings 12.0.303.1 improves system stability with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update.
These updates come hot on the heels of the July firmware updates for Surface Pro 3 that fixed a wide range of issues, many tied to battery life. One naturally wonders if Microsoft is trying to address the Surface Pro 3 battery life problems that started surfacing—ahem—early in July.
Update: Mary Jo tells me these fixes do not address those issues.
