Microsoft Issues Firmware Updates for Surface Book and Surface Pro 4

Last night, Microsoft issued major new firmware updates for both Surface Book and Surface Pro 4. As with the previous updates for these systems this month, both only apply to those who have installed the Anniversary Update.

Note: I’m embarrassed to say I didn’t even realize these updates had shipped until late today. Not sure how that happened. But…

Surface Book users will see the following:

Microsoft driver update for Surface Management Engine.Surface Management Engine v11.0.15.1003 improves stability and performance when you change between power states.

Microsoft driver update for Surface UEFI. Surface UEFI v90.1281.768.0 improves stability and performance when you change between power states.

Microsoft driver update for Surface Integration. Surface Integration v1.1.315.0 improves the device usability and battery life.

Microsoft driver update for Surface Integration Service Device. Surface Integration Service Device v1.0.146.0 makes sure the default Balanced power plan is set correctly when the operating system is updated.

And Surface Pro 4 users will see a very similar set of updates:

Microsoft driver update for Surface Management Engine.Surface Management Engine v11.0.15.1003 improves stability and performance when you change between power states.

Microsoft driver update for Surface UEFI. Surface UEFI v106.1281.768.0 improves stability and performance when you change between power states.

Microsoft driver update for Surface Integration. Surface Integration v1.0.103.0 improves the device usability and battery life.

Microsoft driver update for Surface Integration Service Device. Surface Integration Service Device v1.0.146.0 makes sure the default Balanced power plan is set correctly when the operating system is updated.
