AT&T Wireless says it will be the first U.S. carrier to offer Microsoft’s new Lumia 950, with the device hitting store shelves on November 20 as expected. But if you’re looking to get an early jump on things, you can preorder it from the AT&T web site starting tomorrow.
I know you’re most interested in the price. Here, AT&T is up to its old tricks. The firm hasn’t announced no contract pricing, though of courseMicrosoft said it would be $550 at launch. What it has announced is the following price structures:
Next 24 (30 months) – $19.97 per month Next 18 (24 months) – $24.96 per month Next 12 (20 months) – $29.95 per month Two-Year Commitment – $149.99
AT&T’s Lumia 950 will be available in matte black and matte white options, but since the back cover is removable, you can replace the stock one with a nicer cover, such as those offered by Mozo. And AT&T is offering a unique, limited time offer: When you purchase a Microsoft Lumia 950 on AT&T Next you will be eligible to purchase a Surface 3 64 GB for $399.99, $100 off the normal price.
AT&T is not selling the Lumia 950 XL for whatever reason.
Unlike in some places in Europe, the Microsoft Display Dock HD-500—the Continuum dock that lets you use your phone like a PC with a display, keyboard and mouse–is not included when you buy the Lumia 950 from AT&T. The firm says it is “sold separately,” but it’s not clear whether AT&T will actually sell this interesting accessory.
Here is an AT&T video explaining what you can expect from the Lumia 950.
