Windows Phone 8.1 Calendar App Updated

The Calendar app in Windows Phone 8.1 was just updated, which is a rare enough event. But the update adds some useful new features, including one that has been missing since the original Windows Phone 7 release.

Microsoft provided the following list of changes, but I’m providing a bit more background. These changes include:

Agenda view. Not sure when this disappeared, but it’s back: Select Show Agenda from the More menu (“…” in the app bar)—you must be in Day or Week view to see this option—and view your schedule in a list.

agenda

Show the week number. This is available in the Day, Week, and Month views.

Set the first day of the year. This can be set to January 1, the first 4-day week of the year, or the first full week of the year.

Set the day that is the first day of the week. This was actually a feature of the original Windows Phone 7 release. It’s back!

store

You will get the Calendar app update automatically from Windows Update via the Store app.
