Apple Music is Now Available on Roku Devices

The Apple Music app is now available on Roku streaming devices including smart TVs and speakers. The music streaming service is available as an app on Roky streaming players and Roku TV models, as well as Roku audio products such as the Roku Streambar Pro.

Apple Music provides access to 90 million songs as well as songs from a local music library uploaded to the cloud. The music subscription service also includes 30,000 curated playlists, Apple Music Radio, music videos with time-synced lyrics, as well as exclusive Apple Music original shows and concerts.

The Apple Music app was already available on the big screen with dedicated apps for Apple TV set-top boxes, Amazon Fire TV devices, and PlayStation 5 consoles. The app is also available on select Smart TVs from Samsung and LG.

If you own a Roku device, you can get a 1-month free trial by signing up for Apple Music through the Roku channel store. Otherwise, Apple Music starts at $9.99/month, and a family plan for up to six users is also available at $14.99/month.

According to a report from Midia Research, Apple Music was the second most popular music streaming service in Q2 2021 with a 15% market share, with Spotify coming in first place at 31%. In the US, Roku claims to be the No. 1 TV streaming platform based on hours streamed according to Hypothesis Group.

        <p>And yet there are apps for Netflix, Hulu, Spotify, and other services that are accessible via the web. Clearly there are benefits to having a dedicated app or else consumers wouldn’t ask for them and companies wouldn’t provide them.</p>
