Spotify has teamed up with Netflix to bring some of its video podcasts to the streaming platform. Sixteen podcasts will be coming to Netflix in the US in early 2026, with other markets to follow.

“As video podcasts continue to grow in popularity, our partnership with Spotify allows us to bring full video versions of these top shows to both Netflix and Spotify audiences,” said Lauren Smith, Netflix VP of Content Licensing and Programming Strategy. “From pop culture and lifestyle to true crime and sports, this curated selection of video podcasts adds fresh voices and new perspectives to Netflix, making our entertainment lineup more exciting than ever.”

The initial list of Spotify video podcasts coming to Netflix focuses on true crime (Conspiracy Theories, Serial Killers), sports (The Bill Simmons Podcast, The Ringer’s NFL, NBA, Fantasy Football, and F1 shows), and culture/lifestyle (The Rewatchables, Dissect). Spotify currently hosts over 300,000 video podcasts, and the company says that video podcast viewership has grown 40% year over year.

According to a report from The New York Times, the deal between Spotify and Netflix will prevent these shows from being streamed in full on YouTube, which is Netflix’s biggest competitor. At launch, Netflix also won’t show ads during video podcasts, even for subscribers to its ad-supported tier. However, ads sold by Spotify that are already integrated into the shows will remain.

“This partnership marks a new chapter for podcasting,” said Roman Wasenmüller, VP, Head of Podcasts at Spotify. “Together with Netflix, we’re expanding discovery, helping creators reach new audiences, and giving fans around the world the chance to experience the stories they love and uncover favorites they never expected. This offers more choice to creators and unlocks a completely new distribution opportunity.”
