Spotify Search Follow Venues

Spotify now lets Free and Premium users search for and follow venues within the app. The app’s Live Events feed is also being refreshed to provide daily updates and smarter event recommendations.

“When a listener follows a venue, it’s saved to their Library and easy to find, alongside tailored suggestions for other venues they might enjoy. Once listeners find a concert they’re interested in, they can just tap through to the event’s official ticketing partner to complete their purchase,” the company explained today.

Spotify currently lists over 20,000 venues worldwide, and following them now makes it easier to discover upcoming shows. Back in March, Spotify also launched a personalized Concerts Near You playlist, which gets refreshed every Wednesday with songs from artists performing nearby.

As an alternative to following venues and checking out the Concert Near You Playlist, Spotify’s updated Live Events feed now provides a daily mix of nearby concerts personalized with listeners’ habits. “It brings together what listeners are streaming, where they live, and the genres they love, all in one personalized destination,” the company said today.

Spotify hopes that these new social features will help to support live music and local events. The company’s venues listing goes “from iconic arenas to beloved independent clubs,” and Spotify has partnered with ticketers and promoters worldwide to make it easy for music fans to purchase concert tickets.
