YouTube TV Launches First Genre-Specific Plans

YouTube TV Genre-specific plans

YouTube TV is launching this week its first genre-specific plans, which will be slightly cheaper than the main plan at $82.99/month. The platform detailed four of these new plans today, but it’s planning to launch over 10 new ones focusing on sports, news, entertainment, and family content over the coming weeks.

Here are the four new YouTube TV plans the team detailed today:

Sports Plan ($64.99/month, or $54.99/month for new users*): This plan will provide access to “all the major broadcasters” plus sports networks, including FS1, NBC Sports Network, all of the ESPN networks, with ESPN Unlimited coming later this fall.

Sports + News Plan ($71.99/month, or $56.99/month for new users): This more expensive plan includes everything in the Sports plan plus national channels (CNBC, Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, CSPAN, Bloomberg, and Fox Business).

Entertainment Plan ($54.99/month, or $44.99/month for new users): This plan includes all major broadcasters and channels such as FX, Comedy Central, Bravo, Paramount, Food Network, HGTV, and more.

News + Entertainment + Family Plan ($69.99/month, or $59.99/month for new users): This plan combines news, entertainment, and family channels such as Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, National Geographic, Cartoon Network, PBS Kids, and more.

All these cheaper, genre-specific plans still support all features included on the main YouTube TV plan, including unlimited DVR and multiview. Subscribers can also pay for the existing add-on channels, including NFL Sunday Ticket + RedZone, HBO Max, and 4K Plus, and up to 6 accounts per household are supported.
