Netflix is launching today a standalone Playground app with a selection of games for kids under 8. The app is coming first to the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, the Philippines, and New Zealand, and it will become available in other markets on April 28.

Netflix is making its new Playground app available for free for all subscribers, and all content is available ad-free and offline. At launch, Netflix Playground offers a curated selection of games such as Playtime With Peppa Pig, Sesame Street, Dr. Seuss’s Horton!, and Let’s Color.

“We’re creating a seamless destination for discovery, learning, and play. Whether it’s reuniting with Hank and the Trash Truck crew for new adventures or making a smoothie with Peppa Pig, watching and playing on Netflix can be the fun and easiest part of every family’s day,” said John Derderian, Netflix Vice President of Animation Series + Kids & Family TV.

In its main app, Netflix continues to offer separate kids profiles with age-appropriate content, customizable maturity settings, and activity tools for parents. The kids’ genre was the #2 most popular genre on Netflix between 2023 and 2025, the company said today, which is why it’s launching this new Playground app to make the entertainment platform even more sticky.
