Spotify Now Lets Users Disable All Videos

Spotify disable videos

If you miss the time when Spotify was just focused on audio content, the company has some good news for you. Today, Spotify is starting to roll out new controls for disabling all videos on the platform, and that includes music videos, video podcasts, and the “Canvas” looping visuals that appear when a song is playing.

As you may know, Spotify already offered video controls for Family Plan managed accounts for users under the age of 13.  However, the company acknowledged that all users should get the ability to enjoy an audio-first experience. That’s why it’s starting to roll out new video controls to Spotify Free and Premium users, as well as all Family Plan member accounts.

“Listeners can now choose exactly how they want to engage with the videos that amplify music, podcasts, and audiobooks on Spotify,” the company said today. Video controls will be come available for all users this month, and they’ll be available by going to Settings > Content and display. These new video settings will apply on all platforms.

“We’ve got more great features in the works, so Spotify remains a place where people love to spend time discovering their new favorite artist, creator, or author,” the company said today.
