Adobe Brings Premiere Mobile to Android

Almost one year after its release on the iPhone and iPad, Adobe is releasing Premiere Mobile for Android phones and other devices too. And, yes, it’s still free.

“We’re excited to share that the Adobe Premiere mobile app is now available on Android, bringing intuitive and powerful video editing to millions more creators around the world, for free,” Adobe vice president Mike Polner writes. “Built for how creators have told us they like to make and share videos, the Android app brings the editing tools pros use to an intuitive mobile experience, with studio-quality editing that’s fast, effortless, and great for creating social content.”

As with the iPhone and iPad version, Adobe Premiere Mobile for Android is optimized for creators who want to edit video on the go. It includes Enhance Audio for reducing background noises and improving audio clarity, frame-accurate video editing with a multi-track timeline (with support for video, music, voiceovers, and effects), creator-made templates to get started quickly, access to Adobe Stock content (effects, transitions, creative assets, and music), editing and exporting video up to 4K, and Firefly-powered generative AI features (Generative Fill, Image-to-Video, and Generate Sound Effects). And it provides a free, ad-free, distraction-free, and watermark-free experience with no account sign in requirements. There are, however, in-app upgrades for those who need more generative AI credits and online storage.

Adobe also says that more features are on the way, including Adobe Fonts, enhanced captions, keyframes, cropping, beat detection, continued editing on Premiere desktop, and more.

Adobe Premiere Mobile requires an Android 13 device or newer with 5 GB or more of RAM and is available for free from the Google Play Store.
