Spotify Premium Now Offers Music Quiz for Over 2,000 Artists

Spotify Premium Music quizz

Spotify is starting to roll out new music quizzes to Premium subscribers in 11 countries. The new feature is available in English for over 2,000 artists, and it’s an expansion of an initial test for fans of the Korean boy band BTS that was made available earlier this year.

“Fans can test their knowledge through music trivia, album cover art reveals, and see if they can name that song from an audio track preview spanning an artist’s music catalog, career milestones, and defining moments. Then, they can see how well they scored and share their results with friends,” the Spotify team said today.

The new music quizzes are launching first in the US, UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, India, Nigeria, South Africa, and Indonesia. Spotify Premium users over 18 will be able to find them from the Music Quiz card in the Now Playing view when they’re listening to music from participating artists.

Music quizzes will be rolling out gradually in the 11 aforementioned countries, and the Spotify team is already working to expand the feature to more markets and languages. Overall, this looks like a nice “gamification” feature to increase the time spent in the app, especially if users are incentivized to share their results and challenge their friends.
