Good morning
After just a day home following a five-day Colorado trip, I had to get up 4:30 this morning to get on the 5:20 am Amtrak Acela Express train to New York City for today’s Microsoft event. I don’t get in until 8:30 am, but the event is being held across the street from Penn Station, which couldn’t be more ideal. Expect grogginess.
We need a Groove/Movies & TV streaming box
I mentioned this in my preview of the upcoming Roku 4 just a few minutes ago, but it bears repeating: Microsoft does not offer any way to enjoy Groove Music/Music Pass and Movies & TV content in the living room beyond a few inconvenient options like Xbox, a home theater PC, or Miracast. Since Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Roku all offer cheap, simple, and quiet set-top boxes with app stores, it’s time for the software giant (past time really) to get Groove and Movies & TV on each and every one of those solutions. Or exit the market. You can’t be serious about these services and ignore the living room.
