Sonos recently released a new system update that adds new features and some fixes for issues with the latest app.
“Our latest software update brings exciting new features to enhance how you listen, from improved dialogue clarity to more immersive surround sound,” a Sonos email to customers reads.
It’s been over a year since Sonos released a broken app upgrade that may have permanently harmed the brand. The company experienced financial hardships, laid off employees, fired its CEO, and scaled back its new device ambitions in the wake of that debacle. But it’s also been working to improve the app upgrade that triggered these issues in the first place. The most recent update we covered was from March.
This new update adds TV audio swap from a compatible Sonos soundbar to two Sonos Ace headphones at once, AI-powered speech enhancements, a Truecinema feature that renders a complete surround experience by virtually mapping your space, AZ scrolling for your local music library, new Connection Security settings, and improved responsiveness during playback for Play:1 and Play:3 speakers.
