Spotify Overhauls Apple TV App with Massive Update

Spotify quietly issued a massive update to its Apple TV app, with a new user experience and many new features.

“From new ways to watch video to even more personalized recommendations, our Spotify listening experience on Apple TV just got better,” the official Spotify News account on Twitter/X tweeted. I can’t find a more formal announcement, and the Spotify listing on the App Store for Apple TV doesn’t detail the new features. But multiple reports suggest that this may be the biggest-ever update to the Spotify app on Apple TV.

New features include:

• Complete redesign of the app user interface
• Spotify Connection compatibility for remote control of the app
• Spotify DJ support with AI song recommendations
• Lossless audio support
• Music videos with a “Switch to song/video” toggle for Premium customers
• Listening queue management
• Song lyrics display
• Video podcast support with playback speed configuration

The new Spotify experience on Apple TV is rolling out now, and it should be fully available by mid-November.
