Spotify Has Over 750 Million Users

As part of its quarterly earnings report, Spotify revealed that it now has over 750 million users overall and over 290 million premium subscribers. Those numbers represent gains of 11 percent and 10 percent year-over-year (YOY), respectively.

As for the earnings, Spotify reported that it earned an operating income of €701 million on revenues of €4.5 billion in the quarter ending December 31, 2025. Those figures represent gains of 47 percent and 7 percent YOY, respectively.

“Today, what we’ve really built is a technology platform for audio and increasingly, for all the ways creators connect with audiences,” Spotify founder and executive chairman Daniel Ek says. “And this identity will matter even more going forward. The next wave of technology shifts–AI, new interfaces, wearables, new ways of interacting with content–these will reshape how people discover and experience audio and media. The hard problems ahead, in music, in podcasts, in books, in video, in live, and in things we haven’t built yet, we’re going to keep building the technology to solve them.”

The business is clearly solid: Spotify added a record 38 million new monthly active users (MAUs) and 9 million premium subscribers in its third quarter, both well ahead of expectations. There are now 751 million MAUs overall, and while ad-supported revenue declined 4 percent YOY to €518 million, premium revenues grew 8 percent YOY to €4 billion.

Spotify also reported that its 11th Wrapped event in late 2025 was its biggest ever, with over 300 million users and 630 million shares in 56 languages.
