As part of its transition from Google Podcasts to YouTube Music, Google today made its migration tool available to customers in the U.S.
“It’s here!” the YouTube team tweeted today. “Google Podcast listeners in the United States can now move their Podcast subscriptions to YouTube Music or another podcast app using our new migration tool.”

The instructions for the migration tool are available in YouTube Music Help on the Google Support website. Basically, you visit Google Podcasts settings, choose “Export subscriptions,” and then choose “Export to YouTube Music” or “Export for another app.” If you’re going to YouTube Music, the migration tool will do all the work, and the entire process will just take a few minutes. You will see a “Content is unavailable” message next to any podcasts that are not available in YouTube Music. And in that case, you can add it to your library using its RSS feed link.
If you’re not moving to YouTube Music, you can download an OPML file that you can then import into your new podcast app.
Either way, Google Podcasts users in the U.S. can use the service through March 2024, and will be able to migrate their subscriptions through July 2024. Google says that it will expand the migration tool and export process to more regions over time.
