The notch is more likely for the Face ID feature that they'll say is as good as Apple's Face ID and as secure. So you either get Face ID like feature with big notch or small notch and no face id.

Brad said the next Halo Lens will have a bigger field of view than the just releasing Magic Leap. Well Halo Lens with the wider field of view isn't do out till next year sometime. The next Magic Leap that comes out in 2 years should have a larger field of view too so currently it's all about getting devs to make things and building up a catalog so they can go to market with a full store. Magic leap today is most likely better than Halo Lens today. Either way it doesn't matter for a few years or more till either company can make a good CONSUMER product at $500 or under.
