Is the 2/year release schedule the issue? Or is that fact that MS has cut back on their QC process? What if they release once per year and still have the same issues?

Without feedback, how would MS catch the issues? I would think companies are responsible for releasing quality products without a feedback program. Feedback should make a product better, not catch fundamental flaws in a product.

I have the SteelSeries Arctis 5 which are really nice! They feel good on the ears, and sound good. I looked into the Plantronics RIG, but they didn't have the ones you're testing, they didn't feel good on my ears. The SteelSeries have the band that goes across the inner of the headphones like the Plantronics so I'm guessing they're pretty comfortable? I got them on sale for $70, well worth it.

I think the writing area makes sense…in case you have to jot something down without opening up the machine at all.

Microsoft will have to pry Windows 8.1.1 (with Start8) from my cold hands. My main machine will never run Windows as a service.
