    <p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: transparent;">If your up for a bit of a project – take a look at Home Assistant – </span>https://www.home-assistant.io</p><p><br></p><p>I've standardized on Z-Wave switches primarily because they seem to work with everything.</p><p><br></p><p>Then it's just regular light bulbs.</p><p>i.e. smart switches and dumb blubs rather than dumb switches and smart bulbs</p><p>No fancy colors – but it is rock solid.</p>

    <p>So… Paul… I understand that you find value in the home automation and assistant stuff, and I understand that just because I don't see that value doesn't mean it isn't there for others. However… listening to you on this show… do you see why some of us aren't embracing this wave of technology yet? There are <em>no</em> options that conform to my requirements of simplicity, functionality, and portability. </p>
