I like Live Tiles on my PC and Notebooks. My Start Screen shows the weather at 7 locations I am intersted in via differently sized live tiles, the newest emails and current calendar events via large live tiles, the 8 currency conversion rates I am most interested in and breaking political and financial news. I addition it shows some normal icons large enough to be used via touch on my notebook, e.g. to play the redio stations I often listen to.

Have set my Start Screen to "Full Start Screen" – I don't need to see parts of the apps I am currently working with while looking at the Start Screen.
