    <p>Would some sort of times series be the way to go for these programming projects? Maybe a test of each language/system to see how far you can get in a week or two towards trying to create something simple like Notepad, where you determine where things let you down, such as the problems you had with printing, or the new issue with the Font dialog. You would not have to devote so much time to endless frustration and there may be instances where you are only limited in what you are doing by the timeframe and not by major issues with the development framework, etc.</p><p><br></p><p>Just a though…</p>

      Yeah, I’m wrestling with the best way to do this. Many things are more time-consuming than I’d expect or want.
