This is a comment for Paul.

It sounds as if you are still having trouble with your Sonos speakers on the TV. If after switching to the optical connection your problem persists or returns, there may be an issue with the HDMI port you are using on the TV. Perhaps you should compare the cost of repairing vs replacing the TV, taking into account the pros and cons of each choice, then repair or replace the TV (which ever works best for you).

I base this suggestion on the fact that the sound bar has been replaced and that you switched from the HDMI cable to the optical cable, but as far as I have heard on First Ring Daily, you have made no mention of getting a different TV. If my assumption is correct, and the TV is the only original component remaining from the lightning strike, it is the most likely source of your trouble.

If you have not yet done so. it may be advisable to have the electrical system in your home checked out by a licensed electrician (just for the sake of safety).

I'm sure you have already considered these options, but in the event you are too close to the problem, I am attempting to belabor what I consider to be the obvious. I hope my comments are helpful and I am sorry if I am wasting your time,

Ernie

      No, thanks for this.

It’s kind of tedious to explain the whole set of troubleshooting I’ve done, but in a weird coincidence, I do have two of these TVs and may try switching them out. But I’ve tried literally everything else barring hiring someone. Thanks.
