The last good iPhone was the old SE with headphone jack for $350. Still gets updates. Never getting another, will move to Android when it breaks.

I think you underestimate the importance of the time Apple gave to 5G. Apple is a global company and so it needs to market in countries that have more advanced roll outs of 5G. For instance, China alone accounts for 80% of the world's annual 5G connections, and it will have rolled out 600,000 base stations by the end of this year – and that's just phase 1 of the roll out.

The error Apple made regarding its 5G presentation is that they felt the need to find a US angle to make it seem relevant to its US audience.

The myth of 5G needs to be propagated while Telco's are trying to win a false advertising campaign on the success of 5G while the truth is its not truly available. All the phone makers are under pressure to oversell 5G despite the the true progress on infrastructure and delivery on its potential. In reply to Truffles:

In reply to spraly:

Again, that's a feature of the US market. If Apple deferred launching 5G phones until next October just to suit the already saturated US market, they'd lose the rapidly growing Asian markets to competitors with 5G handsets.

Why is Brad so stuck on Spotify? Can't we go back to Zune?
